I've recently decided to transform my blog that was all about me into a fitness blog. Over the years I've learned important tips that I would like to share with you. Everyone is different but perhaps some of the things I have to say may help you. First, I would like to give you a little background on me as far as my health and exercise.
I have always been a "skinny" girl, my mother likes to tell me I have the metabolism of a man. Throughout my entire life I have been an active being. In my earlier years my days consisted of playing outside and being a runner (which ended when I developed asthma). Into middle school and high school I was active through school sports. My freshman year of high school, I weighed 78 lbs. I don't say this with confidence, in fact, it bothered me to be so skinny. The trend of clothing was tight and sexy but I had no curves and no pants fit my stick legs which made me feel awkward and childish. That year I was recruited to be a cheerleader due to my tiny nature. I gained 10 lbs of muscle from the unique exercise which helped me to feel more normal. Being in cheer I never had to worry about working out because practices were grueling enough. I burned so many calories that I had to up my intake of food to 2 dinners every night, one before practice and one after. It taught me that you really need to fuel your body with good things if you expect it to perform for you. Eventually I graduated high school and cheer became something I was unable to do. Now, I rarely work out and even though I'm still small and "skinny" I've noticed a change in myself. Healthy eating and regular exercise are too important to ignore. None of us want to consciously make the effort but the people who do reap the enormous benefits. We all have the choice of a healthy lifestyle and if you don't like your body then it's time to do something about it. I have decided that it's time for me to start caring more about my body because "skinny" on the outside is not the same thing as healthy on the inside.
