Yoga.
I used to think people who did yoga were weird because of all the hoopla. But recently I've started to go with my best friend Cara. Yoga is a fantastic way to start getting you into the habit of going to the gym. It's not every day but it's at different times on certain days so all you have to do is plan and show up. The great thing is that they give you options which are easier for beginners or more advanced poses, so there's no reason to say you can't do it. It also helps you learn to make working out a form of relaxation rather than something that stresses you out. Not to mention the benefits of stretching which is good for getting your blood flowing. The fun thing with yoga is that you're so concentrated on the poses and your breathing that you forget you're even working out! And trust me, you are. The next day I was definitely sore even though I didn't feel like I did much. Now that I've gone to yoga for a few weeks, my body is remembering working out aka "muscle memory". So now that I've built a little bit of a foundation I've been easing into using weights. Normally I decide I'm going to start working out and I go hard for about a week, everyday making myself feel a little sick at the end of my workout because my body isn't used to it. The smarter and more logical thing to do is ease yourself into working out again. That way it doesn't come as a shock to your body. If yoga isn't your thing, then try just going to the gym and walking on the treadmill for 30 minutes a couple of times a week, eventually you'll get bored or inspired to do some more working out since you're already getting yourself to the gym.
